Bio: James Keeling is a working author located in sometimes frozen tundra of Minnesota. The father of four daughters, he never ceases to be amazed by the magic of life around him. His role of both bedtime and fireside storyteller has led him inexorably into authorhood. Betrayal and murder replace peace and hope as he finds himself in unfamiliar territory. He may not be the biggest and baddest guy out there, but he has skills, the kind garnered from a career steeped in computers and code. Now he must leverage these skills to their fullest to stay above ground and breathing. It will take all of his talent, and courage he may not have, just to survive.

Bio: I grew up in the Midwest and at an early age I began writing plays, which I cajoled my sisters to act in. In the 1980’s and 90’s I published several pieces, mostly travel articles, in several different magazines. In recent years I have finished three novels and a number of short stories. All three novels are set at least partially in foreign countries—Cuba, Saudi Arabia, and Mexico. I currently live in San Francisco.
Website: www.maimer.net or www.wiener-blut.com
When Isabelle’s secret past returns to haunt her nightmares, she must take action to protect her family from a threat that is closer than she realises.
Set within the traditional Viennese café culture, ‘Wiener Blut’ (literally translated as ‘Viennese Blood’) is the story of café owner Isabelle Schindler-Krug and her role in a struggle for power that stretches back for centuries.
As she tells her sons the legends behind coffee and Vienna, it becomes clear that one such legend is still in the making, with her own family caught right in the middle.

Look for announcements to follow soon on the many authors we have lined up for you. Until then, we hope you had as good a summer as we did and here is what you may have missed:

THE WRITE STUFF DEBUTS online OCT. 17, 2009

America’s first literary reality show, The Write Stuff, will debut online at www.thewritestufftv.com on Saturday, October 17th. It is an integral part of Cyrus Webb’s Literacy Campaign. Podioracket.com’s Rhonda R Carpenter interviewed Cyrus Webb on our BTR-Extension back in June when we heard about it from Podiobooks.com authors Mark Eller and Arlene Radasky. Scott Sigler is slated to judge in the finale.

Part conversation and part competition, The Write Stuff gives advice and encouragement from those who have made it in the literary world and showcases how others can do the same. Webb is quick to point out that even though the premise of the show is about writing that anyone following a dream or interested in excelling in their business will get something from it.

During the middle of the season you will meet aspiring writers who will be competing for prizes provided by the project’s sponsors and the title of having The Write Stuff.

There are several videos about the project:

The online edition of The Write Stuff debuts Sat. Oct. 17, 2009 (You might have to cut and paste into your browser),

Cyrus Webb introduces The Write Stuff (You might have to cut and paste into your browser),

The Write Stuff creator, Cyrus Webb, answers questions about The Write Stuff.

Nathan Lowell’s Captain’s Share just arrived at Podiobooks.com. If this is news to you, try to control your urge to subscribe long enough to finish this article.

Captain’s Share is the much anticipated 5th Trader’s Tale from the Golden Age of the Solar Clipper and follows the 2009 Parsec Finalist novel Double Share. Nathan’s books consistently rank in the top ten rated Podiobooks (he holds the top three places for top overall rating) and among the podcasts with the most ratings on the Podiobooks.com charts. Nathan’s fans, and there are many of them, have become accustomed to his quick releases. According to Nathan, “My goal is to get the whole thing done and up by October 15th.”

The series starts with Quarter Share and I strongly suggest that you begin this sci-fi series at the beginning.

In his comments about Captain’s Share on Podiobooks.com Nathan says, “There’ll be 22 episodes and a couple of them will be a bit longer than average… pushing 40-45 minutes. It’s just the way the chapters broke and I chose to make them longer by putting more chapters together. The book itself is 147k words which makes it the longest or my works to date.”

Nathan also adds, “This is the next to last Share book. Owner’s Share is in the works for early 2010 and I’ve got a new project getting set up for NaNoWriMo in November so there’ll be a new book in December (assuming I get it written!)”

Okay. Now you can go subscribe.
