J. Daniels Sawyer has graciously agreed to give us more in a live show on our Blog Talk Radio Show on October 29th at 6:00 pm PST. Set your reminder now. Click here!
Can’t wait? Listen to Podioracket’s short special interview with J. D. We hope you will enjoy and support Mr. Sawyer by purchasing And Then She Was Gone!
J. Daniel Sawyer is a hat-wearing, obsessive-compulsive nutcase attempting to write his way out of the loony bin. He’s the author of numerous fiction podcasts including Sculpting God, Down From Ten, and The Antithesis Progression (which earned him a spot as a 2009 Parsec Finalist). Lacking in personal qualities things that make for respectable character (such as the ability to sit still and shut up), he’s forced to channel his lack of decorum into the fields of photography, a/v production, and writing for outfits like LinuxJournal and the occasional speculative fiction anthology.
When not working on his new secret steampunk fantasy adventure or getting into other mischief, he can be heard hosting the skeptical salon The Polyschizmatic Reprobates Hour, and as the narrator of Free Will, book two of The Antithesis Progression, both available through http://www.jdsawyer.net.
And Then She Was Gone a Clarke Lantham Mystery by J. Daniel Sawyer is now available!
About the book:
Clarke Lantham is a disgraced former cop trying to make his way through the petty and boring life that is the Private Eye business.
With an intern he wants to fire, an ex-girlfriend who he barely speaks with, and a flamboyant hacker who seems more interested in scoring verbal points than in saying anything useful, he isn’t altogether thrilled with the universe. But when a fretful soccer mom hires him to find her missing college-student daughter, he’s in for the worst weekend of his life. Stuck without an ejection seat on a roller-coaster ride through versions of reality he didn’t know existed; up to his eyeballs in mad scientists, drug dealers, scandals, psychologists, muder and mayhem, Lantham must somehow find and save the missing girl if he wants to live long enough to pay his parking tickets.
Philippa Balantine calls it “…a strangely beautiful noir for the future…packed with the trademark Sawyer intelligence,” while Sandra Wickham say it’s “Snappy and fastpaced…filled with intelligent characters, humor, and twisty turns that kept me following Clarke Lantham hour after hour.”
Finally, Chris Lester calls it “A taut, gripping mystery with prose so tight you could bounce a quarter off it….AND THEN SHE WAS GONE delivers beautifully, with a white-knuckled climax full of all the bullets, blood and pulse-pounding excitement you could ask for…Hollywood wishes it could write sequel-bait this good.”
And Then She Was Gone is available in ALL ebook formats, priced at $3.20, at all the normal places. October 29th is the day to rush the markets. Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes and Noble — if you like Sawyer’s writing, and you like adventure, chances are you’re going to have a blast with this one.
